North Cornwall UKIP candidate is sadly out of touch with reality

Oops

The new UKIP candidate in North Cornwall, Miriel Damerell-O'Connor, has committed a bit of a boo boo on her own website.

In an online Q&A section there is the following exchange:

Question ... 'How many jobs in North Cornwall depend on tourism?'
said ... 'In my own opinion I would calculate 96%. Thank you for your enquiry. If I can help further I will be glad too.'

Hmm. Not so sure about that. What about all the public sector jobs - the police, NHS, council workers? What about those who work in industry and manufacturing?

Perhaps Mrs Damerell-O'Connor ought to do some homework if she is serious about seeking local votes?
