BBC News is reporting that Lord Ashcroft's company, Bearwood Corporate Services Ltd, has been cleared in its donations to the Conservatives. An investigation was under way as it was claimed that Bearwood was not trading in the UK at the time and was therefore not legally able to make the donations.
Unlike some, I'm more than happy to accept the Commission's findings in cases such as these.
The questions about why Lord Ashcroft and the Conservatives misled people about their tax status remain, of course.
